Brief overview of PUGG's objectives
Jun 10th 2010 at 1:22 PM - flick
As you may have noticed, PUGG is under new leadership, I'm going to briefly go over what our objectives are and hopefully this will develop an intelligent and constructive discussion in the forums. We decided to do this after attending the IU LAN and realizing that there is no reason why Purdue can't have a large gaming community as well.

We're going to minimize the amount of LAN parties a semester down to one. This will give us the ability to focus all our efforts on one event as opposed to 3 or 4. We will start contacting sponsors as we get closer to the LAN and we're aiming for a lot of support from companies in the industry which will hopefully make the LAN parties more attractive for people to attend. We're also going to setup proper tournaments in advance to get some competition going with some *hopefully* substantial prices, hopefully this will also motivate people to attend.

In addition, we're going to open the LAN parties to the public (if Purdue allows us) and we're going to make the LAN parties 24 hours (again, if Purdue is cool with it). Furthermore, we're going to move the LANs out of the dorms, Stewart is looking promising at the moment.

We're also going to do our best to integrate console gamers into the community, but since none of us are really hardcore console gamers (Azlan maybe a little), we're looking for suggestions as to how we can do this.

As an organization, we're aiming to be more professional, and as previously mentioned, develop lasting relationships with sponsors. We will also amend the club constitution to reflect our objectives as an organization.

Any questions, comments and suggestions are welcome. Feel free to contact Azlan, Amber or myself.
